Vodka.com Sold for $3 million

This is why I love the idea of Domaining:

$3 Million Sale of Vodka.com and Two Huge .Org Deals Assure Merry Christmas for Domain Market:

"Vodka.com go for $3 million in the year's second biggest domain sale "

Roy Messer's sale of Vodka.com to Russian Standard Co. (the makers of Imperia brand vodka) made headlines around the world and the deal, brokered by Sedo.com, should draw additional corporate attention to the value of great generic domain names.

The article goes on to show what I have been telling friends, that extensions besides the .com's are coming along and gaining value everyday. I read where someone else referred to it as there being more Real Estate available off of Main Street.

Date.org sold for$150,349 and Loan.org got $105,500

And what was a surprise for me, having heard from everyone that a domain with more than ten letters isn't valuable is IndividualRetirementAccounts.com, with a whopping 28 letters, sold for $12,350.
